Q1. Is there a charge for selling my boat?
No, not at all, we want as large a data base of boats for sale or coming soon as we can that are not listed on the net. We only charge the buyer.
Q2. Do you keep my boat listed until it is sold?
Yes, we keep her details filed until we match with a buyer. You can withdraw her from our listing at any time.
Q3. I am looking for my first yacht but need advice on what to buy. I have a budget of £20k. Am I charged for your help in finding the right kind of yacht?
There is no charge, helpful advice is free, we can give clear advice on the information you can provide. Beginners often buy an unsuitable boat that a broker is finding difficult selling. We are not paid by brokers or their advertising so we are totally impartial. We want you to enjoy the best boat for you.
Q4. If you find a boat I really like but it is a long way from us, can you inspect it for us to see if it is as good as it says in the advert before we take a look?
Certainly, we start helping you with free advice and free searching for that type / make of boat within your budget. If you have several choices or have no time to view any of them, you can send us to inspect any of them. The charges menu page shows how we work out the costs to you. You decide what you want us to view. We can contact you whilst we are at the boat to give you a verbal assessment or you can pay for us to film the yacht in detail.
Q5. Where can I ask you to go to inspect a yacht?
Anywhere in the world. We are based in Hampshire, so we are close to 80% of yacht brokers along the South coast. We hope to employ agents soon in other areas that inspect the yachts in their area to reduce traveling costs. If you want us to travel anywhere and can cover our costs, we will go anywhere ( as long as it is not a war zone!)
Q6. If I pay for a film report what do I get?
You firstly receive a form by e-mail from us, asking if there are specific parts of the yacht you want us to focus on. Some of us are only allowed to spend our money if our good lady likes the yacht, therefore the galley area and toilet privacy / luxury may be high on the list ( as with houses ), You may be keen on the engine and navigation areas so we can spend time to detail as much as possible. We supply an HD movie with a macro facility for really close up work ( 1cm away ) so nothing is hidden from the camera. The film may be edited by us before we put it on our web site on a password protected page. We give you the password so you can view it for 24 hours. After that we keep a copy on DVD disc. You can buy that disc from us at any time.
Q7. Can you negotiate the purchase for us?
No, we leave that part to you. We introduce you to the yacht, the owner / broker then leave the rest to you. We are not responsible for the purchase we just offer impartiality in finding the best yacht for you. Our inspection report is NOT a survey and you are strongly advised to get one.You can at any time stop business with us as all payments for our services are made up front. If we fail in our service we will refund you. YOU take control of what you want from us at any time.
Q8. How do you make your profit if you are just covering costs for the initial searching, travel and inspections?
We believe in firstly providing a good, honest transparent service. We charge just 1% of the purchase price from you if the yacht you purchase was introduced to you by us in the first instance. If we do our job well we should connect most customers with the yacht they purchase. You can of course purchase a different yacht that we may have missed with no fees from us for that yacht search. So you have nothing to lose! You make an offer to the broker below the asking price and save money. You only pay a small fee as a proportion of that purchase which you have already saved. When you come to sell a yacht, why pay a large commission for them finding a buyer. It is the buyer they work for not you!
Q9. Can you search for anything else, like a house or holiday home?
Certainly and the same theory applies. You don’t have to trust agents again! If you can’t view to narrow the choice, let us. We will include the bad points!
Q 10. You donate to charities, what is your connection with these?
We are Christians who have started this business not to get rich quick but to follow biblical business theology. Our own church supports and in many cases set up these charities with volunteers who travel at their own expense to visit them and build bridges between us here in the UK and other poorer countries like Uganda, South Africa, The Philippines and India. When I visited Uganda last year I was changed like many who have gone before me. We want to create wealth to provide education so that people can work without support. You can see from the charities page that your donation does make a difference to individuals and not to large international organizations.
